How Long is the Waiting Period After Bankruptcy

Bankruptcies happen. I had one myself back in the market crash of 2008.

You can still get a home loan if you’ve had one. There is a waiting period that you will need to go through before you’re eligible again.

Government Programs – FHA, VA, USDA

For chapter 7 bankruptcies, the wait time is two years before you are eligible to purchase a home.

For chapter 13 bankruptcies, one year of on time payments will need to be made before you are eligible to purchase a home.

Conventional
